Overview
Spexer 2000 3D MkIII is HENSOLDT's third-generation X-band active electronically scanned array (AESA) radar, sold in land and naval variants for battlefield surveillance, artillery-target acquisition, counter-UAS, ground-based air defense, border protection and maritime patrol. Its modular multi-panel AESA antennas can be configured for up to 90-degree hemispheric coverage or full 360-degree coverage using three panels, and it performs track-while-scan on more than 300 targets per 120-degree sector, detecting threats moving up to Mach 6, from micro-UAVs and helicopters to fighters, missiles, persons, vehicles, rubber dinghies and jet skis. Spectral micro-Doppler classification helps operators discriminate between target classes in cluttered urban or maritime environments, and the radar can be mounted on vehicles for on-the-move operation as part of a convoy. It has been supplied to Ukraine alongside HENSOLDT's TRML-4D radars and integrated by partners including Rheinmetall for very short-range air-defense systems.
