About WeaponSpecs

An independent specification database and comparison engine for defense systems — currently 60 systems across 39 manufacturers.

What we do

We compile deep, structured specifications for defense systems — fighter aircraft, tanks, air defense systems, missiles, UAVs and small arms — and make them comparable side-by-side. Every system links to its source, and our comparison bars are transparent math, not invented scores (see our methodology).

Where the data comes from

Specifications are taken from public manufacturer pages, defense-ministry releases and reference publications, cross-checked where possible. Nothing classified or export-controlled is ever published. Each system page cites its source and shows when its specs were last verified. Cost figures, where shown, are public approximations — defense program pricing varies hugely by contract, offsets and configuration, so treat comparisons as directional, not authoritative.

How often it's updated

The database grows continuously as new systems and manufacturers are added, and existing entries are re-verified against current public sources. Each page shows a "specs last verified" date.

Funding & editorial independence

WeaponSpecs is independent and self-funded. We take no revenue from manufacturers or governments, accept no sponsored placements, and use no affiliate links. A system's position in search results, comparisons or listings is determined entirely by its published specifications — not by any commercial relationship.

All specifications come from publicly available sources. Editorial responsibility rests with the WeaponSpecs editorial team.

Independence & intellectual property

WeaponSpecs is independent and not affiliated with, authorised by or endorsed by any manufacturer or government. We don't sell weapons systems; we help analysts, researchers and journalists compare them objectively. All brand names, model names, trademarks and logos are the property of their respective owners and are used for identification and comparison only. Specifications come from public sources; product images and documents remain the copyright of their respective owners. Rights holders can request a correction or removal on our corrections page.
