Overview
The DDM4 V7 is Daniel Defense's mid-length-gas-system AR-15 carbine, chambered in 5.56x45mm NATO with a 16-inch, cold-hammer-forged, government-profile barrel (1:7 twist) and a mid-length direct-impingement gas system. It was the first rifle in the DDM4 line to adopt Daniel Defense's own M-LOK free-float rail (the 15-inch MFR XS handguard, with M-LOK slots at 6 positions and a continuous top Picatinny rail) in place of the company's earlier quad-rail systems, and it remains the current base model the rest of the DDM4 family (V7 Pro, V7 S, V7 SLW, and others) is built around. Daniel Defense produces the DDM4 line in both fully-automatic configuration for military and other government agencies and semi-automatic configuration for law-enforcement and civilian sale; the DDM4 platform (in full-auto and clone form) has seen use with US and allied military and law-enforcement units alongside Daniel Defense's dedicated MK18 and M4A1 upper receiver groups supplied under US government contracts. Weight is 6.2 lb (2.81 kg) with a 32.5 to 35.5 inch collapsed-to-extended overall length on its adjustable buttstock.
